Although the DevOps certification market is still relatively young, the AWS DevOps Engineer certification is a well-known name in the industry. AWS is the industry leader and their certs are very heavy.
It is important to note that this certification is not an entry-level one. This certification is for DevOps professionals with a few years experience. It validates your ability and automation skills to manage and implement systems on AWS. Once you earn DevOps Engineer-Professional, there can be real career benefits. PayScale reports that the average salary of an AWS-certified DevOps Engineer in the United States is $117,000.
2. CompTIA Linux+
You might be thinking, “Linux+!” Why? This is a ‘traditional’ sysadmin certification. You would be correct to an extent. Strong fundamentals are essential in DevOps, just as with any other endeavor. DevOps can be done on Windows but the majority of DevOps work takes place in *nix environments. For a DevOps career, you need strong Linux sysadmin skills.
CompTIA Linux+ certification is a great way to show that you have the foundational Linux sysadmin skills. CompTIA Linux+ covers all the essentials and has a solid reputation. This makes the Linux+ certification a great way for DevOps-relevant skills to be validated and enhanced.
It is actually two certifications in one, which is a bonus for the near-term. Earning the Linux+ cert will give you the Linux+ certificate and the Linux Professional Institute’s LPIC-1 certification. This 2-for-1 bundle expires October 1, 2019, so act quickly.
What’s changing? CompTIA Linux+ LX0-103 and LX0-104 exams are now retired. The ComptTIA Linux+ LX0-103 and LX0-104 exams were referred to as ComptTIA Linux+ LX0-104 (Powered by LPI). CompTIA Linux+ has ceased to be reciprocal with LPI, thanks to the new Linux+ exam, which is XK0-004. CompTIA’s blog post about this topic provides more information.

3. AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate
The AWS Certified SysOps administrator will validate your ability manage, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure. If you are not ready to take a professional-level certification but have AWS experience, this associate-level cert will be a good starting point.
After you have earned the SysOps Administrator Associate certificate, you will be able to:
Manage, deploy, and manage AWS systems that can be highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable, and scalable
Control data flow to and fro AWS infrastructure
Select AWS services given set requirements
Identify operational best practices in AWS
Estimate usage costs and identify operational control costs for AWS
Migration of workloads to AWS
This cert is a great way to start a DevOps career, given the importance of AWS today.
